The PGE Capital Group is Poland’s largest company in the electric power sector in terms of revenue and profit generated. By combining its own fuel and power generation resources and owning distribution networks, it guarantees a secure and stable supply of electricity to more than five million customers.

PGE Dystrybucja S.A., which is part of the PGE Capital Group, began its operator operations on September 1, 2010. The company, as a Distribution System Operator, was established as a result of the consolidation of eight companies serving as local distribution system operators, currently forming seven Field Branches of PGE Dystrybucja S.A.

Electricity distribution involves the transportation of electricity by means of high, medium and low voltage power grids and equipment to end users. This activity is carried out by Distribution System Operators (DSOs) and is strictly regulated by law.

The distribution company’s field division operates the power grid in its area of operation through power regions.

The area of the field power district is divided among power stations, where power ambulances are on duty – a service that inspects and repairs the electrical infrastructure. The power ambulance service also performs switching operations on low-, medium- and high-voltage networks to maintain a steady supply of electricity.
