The student performs the following activities within the framework of the described Learning Outcome in apprenticeship:

  • determines the conditions that ensure health protection in a hair salon
  • lists the hairdresser’s tasks regarding the safety of working with mechanical and electrical equipment
  • recognizes sources and harmful factors in the work environment
  • identifies sources of contamination resulting from: hair care (shampoos, conditioners, masks), non-permanent and permanent deformation of hair (mousses, sprays, liquids, fixatives), change of hair color (dyes, activators)
  • selects the equipment of a hairdressing salon in terms of ergonomics (e.g., the height of consoles, chairs, washbasins)
  • selects fire extinguishing agents for a specific work environment hazard situation
  • distinguishes between prohibition, order, warning, evacuation and fire protection signs and alarm signals
  • applies the principles of occupational safety and health in the event of danger, in particular, accident at work, accident, fire, explosion

  • analyzes the condition of the client’s hair and scalp prior to the hair care treatment
  • recognizes the condition of the client’s hair and scalp prior to the grooming procedure
  • Recognizes abnormalities of the client’s hair and scalp prior to the grooming procedure
  • identifies contraindications to performing client hair care procedures
  • fills out the client’s diagnosis sheet before the care procedure

  • plans a hair and scalp washing procedure
  • organizes the workstation for the hair and scalp washing procedure
  • secures the client’s clothing prior to performing the hair and scalp cleansing procedure
  • selects preparations for washing hair and scalp
  • lists methods and techniques for washing the hair and scalp
  • lists scalp massage techniques
  • uses different methods of washing hair and scalp
  • applies scalp massage techniques during the hair washing procedure
  • performs added hair washing procedures in accordance with the technological order and the principles of safety and hygiene at work

  • performs daytime hairstyles in line with changing fashions
  • arranges daytime hairstyles according to the client’s beauty type
  • determines the influence of the outer and inner contour of the hairstyle on the proportions of the head and face

Application for practice program

The form will be sent to the Practice Manager of the Technical School Complex. Reymonta in Czartajew. The decision to enroll a student in an internship with a selected employer on a specific date is made by the Practice Manager, based on the applications sent and the availability of places.
